REPORT

MUNI CIPA L E L ECTIONS IN MACEDONIA

The Youth Council of Macedonia created a coalition with 6 other NGO that provided and coordinated 1500 volunteer in order to obtain domestic civil monitoring of the local elections on 10 and 24 September 2000. Extreme violence occurred during the elections.
Our observers were witnesses of shooting.

Even worse

The second round of the Municipal elections was even worse. One team of domestic observers was beaten another one was kidnaped. One man died. One man member of an electoral board died from heart attack half an hour after gang enter to threaten the electoral board and to stuff ballot in the boxes.
